Interrupt 19 digital festival

Made in Scotland were invited to this year’s Interrupt19 Digital Festival, exhibiting our knowledge and services to students & lecturers at West Lothian College, Livingston. Interrupt19 was set up to help address the digital skills shortage in Scotland so that as many people as possible can take advantage of the opportunities available now and in the future. The festival highlights the need to invest in the right facilities & skills for computing students in order to develop their skills in an environment relevant to the companies they aspire to work in. As a result of Interrupt, West Lothian College this year is launching a range of new digital courses and a cyber lab fully kitted out with state of the art technology.

Our exhibition.

On the stand is our Director Martin McCrum, Lead Developer, Pawel & UI/UX Designer Darren showcasing our latest animation & web design projects. Our team on the day had the opportunity to share their own journey through the education system giving helpful advice to students about the technology industry & advise on possible career paths after study. We also had the opportunity to speak with lecturers & tech companies to get their thoughts about online security & data protection. Following the exhibition was a series of workshops led by leading tech companies & ethical hackers enabling delegates to try out current and emerging technologies relevant to the world today.

Entertainment.

Our highlight of the day has to be “The Singing Children of Africa” (shown below) who provided us with a very talented song & dance routine in the courtyard. Made in Scotland would like to thank West Lothian College for the opportunity to showcase our skills and projects to the IT professionals of the future, we will see you again next year for #Interrupt20!
